Research & Knowledge Generation

Independent research, university partnerships, and evidence sharing to shape transport policy and practice.

At the Civil Society Coalition on Transport (CISCOT), research is at the heart of our mission. We carry out independent and collaborative studies to better understand Uganda’s transport sector and the wider mobility challenges across Africa.

Our research explores issues such as road safety, public transport efficiency, non-motorized mobility, and sustainable urban planning.

University Partnerships

CISCOT works closely with leading universities and academic institutions to generate applied knowledge in transport and mobility. Through joint studies, student projects, and faculty collaborations, we ensure that research findings are rigorous, practical, and solution-oriented.

Policy Influence

The knowledge we generate is systematically shared with government ministries, agencies, and local authorities. By translating academic insights into actionable recommendations, CISCOT helps shape transport policies, guide project implementation, and promote evidence-based decision-making.

Impact

  • Evidence-based advocacy for safer, more efficient, and sustainable transport systems.
  • Capacity building for policymakers, civic leaders, and communities.
  • Knowledge dissemination through reports, briefs, and policy papers.
  • Innovation pilots for e-mobility, BRT systems, and non-motorized transport corridors.

Why Support Us?

By investing in CISCOT’s work, donors and partners help strengthen evidence-based policy, accelerate innovation, empower communities, and promote climate-friendly transport planning.
